Tarion Warranty
A Homeowner Information package from Tarion is provided as part of your PDI. Monakko Development Inc is committed to exceeded both the industry standards as well as the Tarion Standards found in their Customer Performance Guidelines (can be found on their website). The Tarion Warranty Corporation backs your One-Year, Two-Year Warranties. In addition, Tarion covers Major structural defects under their Seven-Year Warranty program.

MDI – One Year Warranty
- Constructed in a workmanlike manner and free from defects in material.
- Fit for Habitation.
- Constructed in accordance with the Ontario Building Code.
- Free of major structural defects.
MDI – Two Year Warranty
- Water penetration through basement or foundation walls.
- Defects in materials, including windows, doors, caulking and defects in work that result in water penetration into the building envelope.
- Defects in work or materials in the electrical, plumbing and heating delivery and distribution systems.
- Defects in work or materials which result in the detachment, displacement or deterioration of exterior cladding (such as brickwork, aluminum or vinyl siding).
- Violations of the Ontario Building Code affecting health and safety (including, but not limited to, violations relating to fire safety and the structural adequacy of the home); and Major structural defects.
MDI – Seven Year Warranty
- Your home’s seven-year warranty covers major structural defects (MSD) and begins on the date you take possession of the home and ends on the day before the seventh anniversary of that date.
MDI - After Sales Services
SELECTIONS
- Sales Service starts long before you take possession of your new home.
- Our lovely staff office will guide you through the selections process and arrange for site inspections.
- Our staff will ensure your choices and finishes are communicated to our partners.
- Customer Service staff will contact you to arrange for site inspections at key points.
- Our Site supervisors are responsible for delivering our homes with the least number of imperfections possible.
- Our customer service staff go through the home a couple of days in advance of your Pre-delivery Inspection to find items that need to be addressed.
PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION
On the day of your PDI, our staff will do the following:
- Do a complete walkthrough of the house and explain how each of the systems operate and how to use.
- Note any flaws that were not noticed earlier. A copy of the deficiency list will be provided to the site supervisor immediately after the PDI.
- All items are the responsibility of the site supervisor and are expected to be completed within 2 weeks (unless communicated differently).
- Your new home warranty administered by Tarion, ensures that your home is free from any defects in material and has been built in compliance with the Ontario Building Code and fit for habitation.
- Our customer service staff are available to answer any questions you may have regarding items that may require attention under your warranty.
ONE AND TWO YEAR LISTS
- Tarion’s next deadlines are one and two years from your date of possession.
- We encourage you to contact our office to discuss issues that have arisen so that we can address them in a timely manner.
